Director of Membership and PokerPAC
Bryan Spadaro joined the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) in October of 2007 and serves as the Senior Director of Federal Advocacy. A strong advocate for poker players’ rights across the country, Bryan works to grow the ranks of the PPA membership and serves as the chief fundraiser for the PAC, which he helped to establish in May of 2008.
Bryan became interested in poker advocacy prior to the passage of UIGEA and got active on various poker forums to help build grassroots opposition to the bill. After competing in several 2007 World Series of Poker events, and a 12th place cash finish in a Limit Hold’em Event, Bryan decided to further his passion for politics and poker and joined the PPA team full time. Before joining the PPA, Bryan worked for AMPAC, the Political Action Committee of the American Medical Association.
Since 2001, poker has been an important part of Bryan’s life. Learning to play on Paradise Poker and Party Poker, followed by stints of grinding limit hold‘em at Harrah’s New Orleans, Bryan was able to pay for part of his college education at Tulane University from poker winnings. Bryan is also an avid political campaigner, having worked on multiple campaigns, including Mark Warner for Senate 2008, Obama for America 2008 (Virginia) and Harry Reid for Nevada 2010.
