President Bush Bans Internet Poker

Poker Players Alliance: Congress Ignores Public Sentiment, Approves Internet Poker Prohibition

Poker Players Call on Senate to Oppose Online Gambling Ban

Washington, D.C.(September 14, 2006) – The Poker Players Alliance (PPA), a grassroots organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the game staged a “Phone March” on Capitol Hill, Tuesday September 12th.  The effort, lead by the PPA and supported by leading poker blogs and forums, placed more than 3,000 phone calls from concerned constituents to U.S. Senate offices expressing their opposition to legislation that would ban online poker.  Many Senators received more than 100 calls from their constituents.
