The U.S. Congress is now in “August recess.” This means that your members of the U.S. House and Senate will be home in their respective districts and states to meet with constituents, host town hall meetings and attend local community events. This is a great time for you to meet face-to-face with your lawmakers and discuss the importance of passing a federal online poker bill this year.
The PPA has made it easy for you to schedule a meeting with your U.S. Representative and Senators during the August recess, which runs from August 5th thru September 7th, in their district office.
Please call your Members of Congress. Click here to find your Members of Congress and their phone numbers.
Ask to speak with the Representative’s or Senator’s scheduler. Ask to schedule a face to face meeting with him/her in their district office. Before you go don’t forget to print these important leave behinds that we have compiled for your meeting. They include; talking points, a summary of H.R. 2366 and the recent letter from the Fraternal Order of Police in support of licensing and regulating online poker. You can print them either in color or black and white. Click here to download the file and then print.
During your meeting please let your Representative know:
- You’re a constituent, voter and a proud poker enthusiast
- You respectfully ask him/her to support pending online poker federal legislation
- That it’s important to you that he/she protect your rights to play the great game of poker
- Make sure to give the PPA handouts, exchange your business card should you if have one and thank him/her for meeting with you
Should you have any questions prior to attending your meeting please feel free to respond to this email with your questions and someone from the PPA will contact you.
Proud to play,
Drew Lesofski Director, Grassroots and External Affairs |
