WASHINGTON — A new bill by the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee requires federal agencies to define unlawful Internet gambling so banks and other financial institutions can comply with the ban on online wagering.
The Department of Treasury and the Federal Reserve would consult the U.S. attorney general’s office in creating a formal process for defining illegal Internet gambling, according to the bill introduced Thursday by Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass.
