The company, which “is a global Internet information provider to which leading companies turn for consumer behavior insight that drives successful marketing, sales and trading strategies,” according to its website, released a summary of July’s online traffic in the United States. Glancing down the list of “Top 10 Gaining Categories by Percentage Change in Unique Visitors (U.S.),” you’ll notice “Online Gambling,” which ranks as number seven on the list. All in all, the number of unique visitors who visited internet gambling sites increased by 5% from June to July, 2008.

Tuesday marked the second day of an important week for the American Gaming Association. The AGA, which is headquartered in Washington, D.C., launched the 11th annual Responsible Gaming Education Week (RGEW), which takes place between now and Friday, August 8th. The goal of the RGEW is to encourage casino “employees to begin a conversation about responsible gaming at home, on the job and in the community,” according to a press release distributed by the organization. AGA President and CEO Frank Fahrenkopf commented, “Responsible gaming is not just an issue for casinos, it’s an issue for the whole community.”
