PPA South Carolina Action Alert
We need as many South Carolina poker players as possible to attend two upcoming hearings on legislation important to all South Carolina poker players.

Senate President Pro Tem Glenn McConnell will be holding two public hearings to discuss S535 a bill that would legalize home poker games and also expand charity gaming (including charity poker tournaments) in the state.

South Carolina poker players will have a once in a life time opportunity to send a loud and clear message directly to our lawmakers in Columbia that our rights matter and that WE ARE NOT CRIMINALS!

The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) intends to use these hearings as a way to demonstrate poker players’ broad support for the proposed changes which will decriminalize playing poker from the comfort of our homes-however, WE NEED YOUR HELP. We need you, your poker buddies and dozens of PPA members to attend these very important public hearings. If we hope to reverse this outdated law all poker players must attend to show support. Our opposition will be there–you can count on it.

Please click here to fill out the RSVP form which will let us know if you can attend one or both of the public hearings. Join with us as we make a stand to say that Poker Is Not A Crime!

[MA] PPA Action Alert to all Mass. Members

By Poker Players Alliance
Friday, November 2nd, 2007

Recently, Governor Deval Patrick proposed a bill (H.4307, click here to read) that seeks to expand casino gambling in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This bill also includes a proposition that would make it a crime for you to play poker on the Internet (See: Section 15(h)(2)(i)). Under this provision, violators will be subject to a maximum term of 2 years in the house of correction, a fine of $25,000, or both. Ironically, H.4307 is pro-casino gambling legislation, yet it makes Internet gaming a crime. This is an unacceptable double-standard!
